The IFS has a keen interest in the history of the Kindergarten and of Froebelian Education more broadly.

IFS conferences regularly include paper presentations as well as plenary lectures by eminent historians. The Society enjoys close links with archives holding notable collections of Froebeliana and of early childhood education records and materials more generally.

Froebel Archive for Childhood Studies, University of Roehampton, UK.  The Froebel Archive includes substantial historical collections relevant to the history of the kindergarten and the Froebel movement in the UK and internationally.  In addition to its physical archives it maintains its Froebel Archives Digital Collection, including a helpful list of links to relevant digital sources held elsewhere.  Please direct all enquiries to the Archivist, Kornelia Cepok, tel. +44 (0) 20 8392 3323.
